Salvaged Siding Sign
Several months ago, we entered into a large project with another couple - we bought a "flipper" house! The boys have since been working their tails off to renovate this house and get it back on the market - that is a post all in itself. Stay tuned.
One of the beautiful things about this project is the adventure of finding hidden treasures in this old, run-down home. At some point, the house was added on to, and the previous owners just covered up the existing wood siding with drywall. So, during demolition, we discovered this fabulous green wood siding with tons of natural character.
I cut a few pieces down and secured them on the back with some small 1x4 pieces, some wood glue and a nail gun.
Then I set up to stencil on top of the wood. The stencils fit perfectly on the raised profile of the siding.
I love this siding so much because it is a piece of the story of this home we purchased - there are nail holes and scratches and scuff marks that are 100% original.
We gifted this sign to our friends, and they are now displaying it in their home. I've salvaged several other long pieces of this stuff and can't wait to add a piece to our home as well.
What a great way to remember this adventure together!
