Hello! I'm Kelsey.

I spend most of my days working a full-time job as an electrical engineer in the construction industry. I put a lot of time into my job, and I've worked really hard to get here. I love what I do.

I've always considered myself a "doer" - a self-proclaimed DIY-er. Sometimes I get caught up in the everyday routine of eat, sleep, work, repeat. I want life to be more than just my day job and household chores.

This is my story. I've struggled to find balance and I've blamed it on working full time. It sometimes feels overwhelming to juggle life with a job, young marriage, a home and more to-do lists than you can imagine.

But let's be honest - I'm an engineer - I love problem solving.

I believe that finding balance in life requires you to identify your passions and prioritize them. I'm quickly learning that I won't just find time to do the things that inspire me - I need to make time. I have a list of projects to do, recipes to try and a fitness plan that always seems to take a backseat. We also have a large garden in the summers and a dream to build furniture someday.

None of these things can happen without a well-organized home and budget to allow for them.

In true engineer fashion, I'm a planner - I love lists and numbers.

Using these strengths, I hope to make time for things that inspire me amidst the everyday hustle and bustle. Sometimes that will mean a new DIY project or delicious recipe to try. Other times it will come in the form of a party or a gift to give someone special. Occasionally it will mean taking a break from the everyday and traveling just to get away from it all. And of course, sometimes, it will just be finding ways to manage the madness of life.

I hope this blog can be two things: a tool for me to remind myself that life is so much more than any one thing, and a tool for you to see that (even if it is overwhelming at times) it is possible to find balance and follow your passions.

So join me as I stumble my way through working 40+ hours a week in an office and trying to create a life I love out of what I do. I can, because I think I can.
