Final Swing Before the Ring

This cold, snowy day is making me long for the warm weather of baseball season. So, I thought I would share this baseball themed bachelorette party I was part of last summer.

The main event of the party was attending a ball game in one of the Cardinals suites and celebrating the bride at the ballpark. We planned to open gifts at her sisters house, though, and wanted to make the house feel festive, even though we were only there for a short time.

I painted this chipboard monogram and added burlap ribbon and a small wooden baseball & glove, all from JoAnn Fabric and Crafts. We hung this on the front door to welcome guests as they arrived.

We had some light snacks and a champagne toast before the game. We tried to incorporate Cardinal red anywhere we could. The centerpieces were made with fake flowers from the dollar store to keep costs reasonable!

The only activity we had planned at the house was a panty guessing game - each guest brought a pair of panties for the bride and we wrapped them in these little popcorn bags. Then she had to gues who each pair was from.

Also, our bride wanted to make sure we didn't have lots of...inappropriate things for people to wear (you know, like necklaces or nametags that look like certain male appendages...)

Let's be honest - we were all relieved! But, I couldn't let a bachelorette party go by without some sort of identifying and fun accessories.

My fabulous sister over at Studio 314 Designs made these baseball themed nametags for us. There was a Team Bride and a Team Groom for each of the moms who joined us, as well as Maid of Honor and Bridesmaid for the bridal party. The others had sayings like "Pinch Hitter" and "Diamonds are Forever" or "Great Catch" on them. She attached some satin baseball ribbon and glued them to pins.

I love being able to celebrate and personalize such important moments in the lives of those I love.

(Only 88 days until the Cardinals home opener - and my birthday!)
