Soiree Spot: Halloween

Halloween might be my favorite holiday. It's at least my favorite excuse for a party.

This year, we hosted our first "grown-up" Halloween party, complete with costume contest and prizes.

At the dessert table, guests could choose from candy corn and peanuts, apples with caramel fondue, Rice Krispies treats, Halloween candy, and...

THESE adorable ghost brownies. The brownies were actually so much easier to do than I expected, and for once, turned out looking like the pin that inspired them!

The main feature of the party was homemade chili -

20 gallons of chili.

Along with all of that chili, we had a full chili bar including Fritos, tortilla chips, queso, green onions, sour cream, jalapenos, olives, corn muffins, oyster crackers and shredded cheese.

Let me tell you folks, chili is a great option for a crowd. We only bagged and froze 10 gallons of chili at the end of the night.

Do you realize what that means?

We ate 10 gallons of chili in one night!

We'd originally planned a bonfire and a great little s'mores station, but the dreary weather did not cooperate. So instead, we moved the "fire pit" into the garage. It wasn't ideal, but it sure did get used a lot during the party.

Of course, what's a party without a bar? Warm apple cider, margarita punch and an assortment of spooky wines rounded out the evening nicely.

All of the festive party banners were made by my amazing sister over at Studio314Designs. Be sure to check out her Etsy shop for more banners, cupcake toppers, and all kinds of other festive party gear!
